O Counterculture, where art thou?, part II: Occupy Wall Street
Keep hope alive. Those three words echo in my head as the OCCUPY movement across the country and around the world is about to celebrate its two-month birthday. Perhaps my prophecy of a new counterculture in part one of this article is bearing fruition. And it almost directly coincided with the 20th birthday of Nirvana's Nevermind. A movement which oddly enough is amorphous, has no leaders, and no one to claim as the spokesperson for the new generation. But perhaps these college kids want it that way. As with the punk movement and others before it, the proclamation has always been "kill your idols". Or have none to begin with. It makes sense, for idols always fail us. One thing is for certain, though. The phrase "Mic check!" is no longer a mindless hip-hop slogan.
Of course, the question is, is the OCCUPY movement with us to stay or is it just another flash-in-the-pan phenomenon? Never mind the brutal tactics of the NYPD or its surrogate police departments across the country. Or the relentless media machine led by none other than Rupert MURDERdoch lambasting the movement everyday, calling for pansy third-term Mayor Bloomberg to step in and shut down the encampment at Zuccotti park. Or the skels, drug addicts, rapists, and general provocateurs sent in by the police to divide and conquer. Do these signify a uncertain future for the occupy movement, or is the age-old adage certain, that that which does not kill us will only make us stronger? Two months is certainly not enough time to answer that, but rest assured, with the country and world behind what started out as an idea, it surely has gained enough momentum.
Only one thing is missing from this conglomeration of souls geared toward revolution. The clear absence of music from the 99% bursting upon the scene and dominating the airwaves. Have we gone too far as a nation that we can't overturn pop-culture and its accompanying Fashion Industrial Complex? That popular music must only be arbitrated by the judges of American Idol in order to gain mass appeal? Or do we have to wait four or five years for the 90's revival to take place in the club scene? No one alive during the 60s can forget how music shaped the counterculture in relation to the politics and everything else around them. Without a resultant musical phenomenon, OCCUPY is beyond stale. Its ill-fated. In order to create a successful movement, musically speaking, we're going to have to go far beyond a drum circle and a few random hippies strumming a guitar. We need a musical statement. One that flies in the face of Lady Gaga. One where people tune in and make the phenomenon mainstream. Or leave the occupation and go back home. Its your choice.

O Counter-culture, Where Art Thou?
With the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind, writers and social critics are clamoring to pen articles of relevance to grunge/counterculture history. The August 2011 issue of SPIN Magazine includes the best and brightest of alternative rock relating their tales of what the album meant to them back in 1991. So naturally, I thought I might jump on the bandwagon.
In 1991 rock was virtually nonexistent and inaccessible to the public. It was the unofficial death of Heavy Metal and the advent of Pop garbage such as Paula Abdul, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. I was ten years old and going through my Vanilla Ice phase. The only radio station that mattered to me was Z-100, which was only concerned with top 40 hits. Needless to say, alternative rock had scarce outlets to promote its new acts, with New York being the Pop/dance music capital of the world. I didn't have an inkling of knowledge about Nirvana until early 1992, when a Nevermind poster caught my eye with its infamous naked infant submerged in a pool swimming after a dollar bill. Even still I didn't buy Nevermind as I was a jewboy interested in rap music. Until 1995, when I got sick of the hip-hop world and simultaneously bought Nevermind and In Utero as I was well into my teens and picked up an electric guitar for the first time. Even after Kurt's demise, it opened up my mind to the countercultural aspect of life crucial to my development as an activist and as a human being.
Even now in 2011, I still cling to 90's era politics, music and social commentary for a glimmer of hope that even during a time where music and pop-culture have been obscured by pro-aristocracy, pro-Fashion Industrial Complex in-your-face sloganeering, there are still buds and blossoms of counterculture activity that are still in the birthing stage. It seemed impossible in 1991, during papa Bush's administration when the majority of Americans were rooting for our troops to get Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait. And it seems impossible now, with two wars raging in the middle east and a third one added to the list in Libya by our wonderful Democrat president, all the while with the majority of our country being complacent. Yet there is always an underground culture yearning to burst out into the mainstream and topple the topless Lady Gaga. Only question is, where do we look for such a movement?
Forget the hipsters and their mecca, Williamsburg. Some arrogantly boast and confirm that the hipsters are the new Hippies. And some claim that hipsterdom is a hotbed of radical activity itching towards a modern day revolution. These arbiters of White Upper-Middle Class TRASH could not be any more wrong. Find me one hipster who does not fawn over Barack Obama's pseudo-intelligence, and I'll sell you the Empire State Building. And give me one indie rock band that doesn't find itself in complete adoration of societal abominations. They are a far cry from hippies, and they are even more far removed from the grunge era. How could you possibly build a countercultural movement on drowsy, Thorazine laden bands such as Deathcab for Cutie and My Morning Jacket? I once encountered a hipster so obsessed with his self-important image that he considered wearing an Operation Desert Storm t-shirt an expression of hipster irony. I parody these cretins in my idea for a faux-indie rock group called Deafening Aesthetic. Trying to fit in tight jeans is easier than trying to fit in in hipster circles.
One day, this mess will clear itself up. And rest assured, one day, hopefully soon, the countercultural sun will shine with brand new ideas on how to deconstruct society. Until that happens, I'll be humming along with The Strokes, asking the question "Is This It?" TO THE BATCAVE, ROBIN!

THE SHEEPLE RIOT AT SOUTH STREET SEAPORT!!! Am I supposed to be impressed?!! Who the fuck is Drake anyway?!

I have to admit, life in New York had been getting quite dull lately. Every day had been getting to be the same. So I said to myself, "this city needs a good riot". Well, my prayers were sort of answered, though not quite what I expected.
On June 16, rapper Drake had scheduled a free show at South Street Seaport in which tens of thousands of the basest of hip-hop fans had attended. The scheduled concert time arrived and there was no sign of Drake (by the way, does he make coffee cakes?). Time dragged on and finally people started to get rowdy. Chairs were thrown off balconies. People were climbing on top of ticket booths and hanging off of awnings. Police were called in to quell the activities and a riot ensued. Eventually several people were injured and two were arrested. I'd hate to say it, but kudos for the cops! Suffice to say, Drake never showed up. Far be it from a commercial rapper to play a show where money, cash and hoes aren't involved.
These degenerates are the same people who voted for Barack Obama in November 2008 because he is black. These are the same people who still have faith in the government even after eight years of George W. Bush. These are the people that represent the younger generation. They stand for nothing but themselves. Having grown up with these morons, having seen their total lack of moral fiber worse than the 60's generation, my worst nightmare is living to see the day when one of them becomes president. These people think Lady Gaga feuding with Katy Perry is newsworthy. And they consider a cancelled concert a cause for riot. I refuse to associate myself with them anymore. Quite frankly, I have given up trying to influence them and get them interested in my message. They are beyond redemption. If a nuclear bomb were to hit them tomorrow, those caught in the fallout would most likely eat each other in the streets.
I have also given up any hope in a mass movement of truth. Jesus himself said few shall be saved. Forget about influencing the Fashion Industrial Complex. They are completely gone. My message is for the truthseekers, to the people who are completely tired of the bullshit, and that includes people of my generation too, who like me are sick to death of human sheep enforcing a state of ignorance on the populace. I at least have faith that they will come out while the rest of the world goes down. Just have patience, and when the time comes, LET'S RIOT FOR SOMETHING REAL!!! GREECE DID IT!! WHY CAN'T AMERICA????

Are you yuppsters serious?! Are you actually praying for a One-World Government?! Well, HERE IT IS!!

For anyone looking at this photograph, the question arises whether this is a hallucination or reality (Most hipsters are schizophrenic, anyway, so I won't pay any attention to their responses). It appears that the Fashion Industrial Complex is now being in-your-face about what their true intentions are. The NEW WORLD ORDER NYC, a fashion boutique, is not where most people would assume it to be. If someone were to tell me about it, I would automatically assume such a travesty to be located on the Upper East Side, BUT NO, its actual location is on Avenue B and 2nd street. That's right, Alphabet City, the same supposed bastion of non-comformity that saw the Beat Generation, the Punk Movement, and the Tompkins Square Riots. Bygone days are history. In 2010, the ancien regime of the East Village is rapidly fading by the day as the yuppie landscape is ever increasing. Apparently the exponential rent increases are not enough. These specimens are not even ATTEMPTING to preserve the cultural vitality of ABC-land and create somewhat of a tribute to the village of olde, but instead they are brazenly marking their assumed territory and proclaiming the inevitable VENI VIDI VICI (Look it up, this Latin phrase is on your cigarette packs). A few blocks south, on Clinton St., there is also a bar/restaurant called "1492". Innnntressstiinng. They just so happened to choose the year of European Conquest to name a bar in a gentrified neighborhood.
As with anything that the FIC is doing, I am most certainly confused, and no doubt have many questions which I doubt would be answered by the Hoi Polloi of this NWO fashion boutique. Exactly what are their intentions for naming this outlet after such an abomination which is NEW WORLD ORDER? Are they being flippant? Is this yet another pathetic attempt at hipster irony? Or perhaps this is a beyond arrogant slap in the face to all the old time village residents who clearly did not stand for New World Order but unfortunately saw their beloved movement and community fall to gentrification. Whatever it is, this is beyond a shadow of a doubt an eyesore and I cannot believe someone would let this go up in the Village, let alone New York City.
The day of reckoning fast approaches for these occupying forces of the counter-culture. Although there doesn't seem to be an end in sight, I remember the story of the Tower of Babel in Genesis. The people kept building and building their hideous tower, thinking that they could soar above the clouds and into space, and then without warning God struck it down. I hope that's what will happen to the Fashion Industrial Complex, and to gentrification. Although I wonder, even if that happens, will the sheeple still not get it?

Clique Warfare: Re-ordering the US Populace
I would also prefer to entitle this post "The Evolution of Cliques". The Illuminati wanted to create an image of itself so badly that they made clique warfare. Beginning with the nuclear family, cliques were designed to be microcosms of secret societies in the way that they operate. The hierarchical structure of the divide and conquer scheme is as follows from top to bottom: Secret societies, religions, nations, states, cities, tribes, families, families to cliques. Cliques are the most dangerous because even though they are the smallest form of Divide and Conquer strategy, it is the most prevalent strategy in all groups, circles, and infrastructures. Almost every single body of people that starts out with a noble ideal with progressive intentions ends up wearing their idealism thin and succumbing to the C word. Cliques are based on egos, with the superego being conformity. What happens when you have trillions of split atoms? Nuclear fission. What happens when you have millions of divisive factions trying to attain the conformity ideal by forming cliques? Chaos. And under these circumstances chaos is order. NEW WORLD ORDER.
And what does this have to do with the Fashion Industrial Complex? The clique is the centerpiece of FIC conformity, being the end-all be-all school of thought the pop culture addicts adhere to. As with any body of power or dictatorship which swears by uniformity in thought, their desire is to wipe out any form of opposition to the norm. While putting out the facade that there is no form of manipulation, the devices of clique warfare are secretive. People that prefer the false security of cliques tend to be brainwashed individuals. They see the glitz and glamour of the mass media and see that as something worth sacrificing their individuality for. They prefer deception over truth. Yet it is all in vain.
To illustrate these points that I am making, I'll point to a few examples I have experienced in my own travels. Just yesterday I was hanging out in a park when I encountered two young twentysomething females. On the surface they seemed to be friendly and worth talking to, but as they grew deeper in conversation (with each other), the further they slipped into the social networking paradigm and unconsciously tried to shut me out of the conversation. Another time I was at a bar when I went outside and approached someone for a cigarette. Again, on the surface they seemed to be friendly and obliged. Yet when I tried to enter their conversation (about nonsense) they screamed "WE'RE NOT TALKING TO YOU!!" Nice, huh?
This is clique warfare. Their tactics are obviously threatening and employed to expel anyone they see as "weird" or "undesirable", putting on two-faced facades for anyone "Unworthy" of penetrating their precious clique. However petty, on a grander scale it leads to violence and war. It must be stopped. The revolution is coming, and the clique warriors will ultimately be left behind.

How "stupid" is Diesel?
Just when you thought the collective Fashion Industrial Complex have exhausted all their "creative" resources and have begun to draw a blank as far as their insidious ad campaigns, they surprise us with something incredibly ludicrous. Just yesterday as I was walking through Soho on 6th Avenue, I happened upon a couple of posters from Diesel. Apparently their idiosyncracies have moved into uncharted territory; the collective IQ of the general public. It is common knowledge that the FIC's expertise is mainly in aiding and abetting the dumbed-down masses by subconsciously targeting their whims and desires. And to further compound their dumbed-downness, you have something like Diesel's "BE STUPID" ad campaign.
Society, especially pop-culture in general doesn't applaud intelligence. That's a no-brainer. Yet one would think that the ad wizards of Diesel or any other corporation would at least conceal their sinister intentions by making their ads subtle. Like any normal non-sheeple human being, I was taken aback at first by the sheer voracity of this ad, which like most ads, is an assault on the senses. But then I remembered that the Fashion Industrial Complex is the arm of the ruling class that preys on the weak consciousness of consumers. In addition to the faulty education system which has left millions of children behind, "BE STUPID" would definitely encourage them to become, well, "STUPIDER". Then again, this could of course be a pathetic attempt at hipster irony. In which case, the joke is lost on the public. To them, "BE STUPID" means exactly what it says. Even if average lemmings don't judge themselves off the bat as stupid, the aim of the advertiser is for the subconscious. As a result, in the coming months you'll see more and more people doing more stupid things (such as buying $200 Diesel pants) without a clue as to what influenced them. Congratulations, FIC and Diesel, for once again marketing death to the world.
The revolutionary thing to do, of course, is the exact opposite of what the Fashion Industrial Complex wants. Be SMART, and not only that, aspire to greatness. Stop being controlled and enslaved by the multifaceted beast that drives capitalism. The system would rather have you brain-dead and drooling at their ad campaigns than thinking out of the box. CHOOSE LIFE.

Mea Culpa
Where would the human race be without apologies? Christianity and other world religions are based on forgiveness of sins, provided one is sorry for their mistakes. It seems to me that even those in the Fashion Industrial Complex have apologies, including Bernie Madoff. Of course, those types of apologies are to be questioned as far as their lack of sincerity. But I'll withhold those criticisms to attend to a more important issue.
In February, I wrote a scathing article on a fashion blogger named Laura Jane Faulds. I was under the impression she had used the term Fashion Industrial Complex to try to mock my cause and and neutralize its effect, as the FIC tends to do. I thought the argument I had made was valid because I had tried to communicate to her beforehand, with no response. I assumed that that was suspicious. Until I checked my e-mail today. There was a message from Laura Jane Faulds, with the subject heading "sorry".
I was stunned. In the e-mail she apologized for not communicating with me, saying she simply forgot about the e-mail I had sent her. It would seem hypocritical of me to reproach her for being forgetful as forgetfulness is one of my many flaws. I can say it was a sincere exchange. Her tone in the letter was very friendly, even though months before I had come down on her like Jehovah. She was very forgiving, and could have done much worse. That speaks volumes to me about her not being what I had assumed her to be, which is another thing that she stated in the e-mail.
Laura, I accept your apology. I have a friend who says "don't become what you hate". In that instance I became what I hated because the fashion industrial complex is all about labelling people and rushing to conclusions about people before you scratch the surface. I'm sorry for running with my passions. All I can say from this whole thing is that I am glad I am not a Police Officer. I would shoot first and ask questions later. Scary.

iPod-wearing Lifeguards at Rockaway Beach
It's getting worse.
On the train, I see various hipsters and assorted sheeple study their poses as they continue to drown out reality through their mp3 players. As is typical with other kinds of FIC-related phenomena, I've somewhat begun to reluctantly accept their presence as part of everyday life. Until today when I read the cover of the New York Post. In full view, a Rockaway Beach lifeguard was spotted on his chair while zoning out wearing DJ-style headphones. In light of an August 1st drowning at the same beach, this is an abomination. Without a shadow of a doubt, it confirms my suspicions that the Fashion Industrial Complex's business in mind control is beginning to put people's lives in jeopardy. And in the eyes of its feeble followers, it's becoming acceptable.
When questioned by the Post reporter about the telling photograph, other lifeguards refused to comment. This is typical behavior of parties who are guilty of the same negligence. It also highlights a certain aspect of dumbed-down pop-culture where people remain, more often than not, silent about important issues. Being good citizens, in other words. Shutting up about life-threatening and job-threatening abuses just to maintain the status-quo. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. This is why governments use mind-controlled slaves to perform their dirty work for them. Adolph Hitler would have a field day if he could lay his hands on these lifeguards and use them as his human population-control experiments. His first creation would be the iPod army faction of the SS, where each member routinely forms a pyramid scheme where the upper echelons train soldiers to brainwash and exterminate people through the use of digital media.
This is where democracy ends and fascism begins. The aim of technocracy is not only to oversaturate the public with media and technology, but to also create an ever-widening divide between the haves and the have-nots of technological prowess. The most extreme case of this will happen when the government begins to enforce the verichip on the population and a cashless system takes hold on society. The Fashion Industrial Complex is already disseminating its propaganda on would-be resisters to make sure nobody speaks out or challenges the system. They do this through psychological warfare, making sure information sinks in through the collective subconscious. But the tools are in our hand to consciously free ourselves from the matrix. Education and self-awareness are what's needed to keep ourselves from committing cultural suicide.

How Self-Reliant is the FIC?
"Imitation is SUICIDE", wrote the great Ralph Waldo Emerson in an essay entitled "Self Reliance". I concur. It is my belief that the definition of schizophrenia is living the life of a copy-cat. Copying the attitudes, beliefs, and yes, fashion choices of other people, thus, adopting their personality traits in psychosis. I believe the individual should stand out, must stand out, and will stand out even in the event that he or she should begin to follow somebody else's mode of thought. That is, even if their vain intention is to follow the norm and conform to society's will instead of forge their own God-given path, they will stand out like a sore thumb. Therefore, their suicide attempts that Emerson speaks of are evident. Blindly following each other's paths. Copying each other's speech patterns. Walking contradictions that are afraid of standing out, yet do stand out, albeit as people that do not think for themselves. The Fashion Industrial Complex is cultural suicide, and it is rampant.
There are numerous terms given t0 the class of people that tend to follow instead of look within themselves. The word that comes first to my mind would be the term "poser". A person that studies cliques and social patterns and does what ever he can to fit in is a poser at best. Posing to attract attention from mediocre circles that do nothing but pay attention to the latest new thing. As if some type of prestige were to be gained from hanging around the cool kids. Other terms follow. Lemmings and sheeple are meant to describe a broad range of people that follow each other into the ditch as far as leaders and political movements are concerned. The more they follow, the more dumbed down they become by their own choices that are influenced by looking at someone else's vain example. And by their own choices, I mean that everyone decides to commit cultural suicide by being a fool and following the norm. NO ONE is forced to conform by any standard. People think they are but they are not. This is part of the illusion the FIC creates.
A person who does for himself and is himself at all costs can be called self-reliant. This is diametrically opposite to what the Fashion Industrial Complex prescribes for every man, woman and child. Even in the United States of America, they want a cultural dictatorship where every saying and teaching put out by the FIC is obeyed by the huddled masses. Without question. Even sayings that were put out by the revolution of the 1960's have been mocked and co-opted by the FIC to exploit the public. That is why I say at the masthead of this blog, "BEWARE" the Fashion Industrial Complex, echoing Eisenhower's Military Industrial Complex speech at the end of his presidency. We must beware for our lives are at stake. Bewaring is the first step towards self-reliance. Once that is accomplished, breaking out of the box is possible.

Someone in Vacuous Blogland is Hijacking my Cause: Introducing Laura Jane Faulds, Fashionista Opportunista

As a writer and an activist, my job is not only to expose the Fashion Industrial Complex and all of its soul-sucking endeavors, but to also seek out like-minded individuals who share my philosophy and would love to see the eventual destruction of the FIC once and for all. So I did a search on google for "Fashion Industrial Complex", hoping that my search results would turn up at least one writer with similar views. By the way, I never assumed I was THE person to unearth the existence of the FIC, let alone name it. No doubt people before me have had my observations that in 2004 I had begun to write down and take to the streets.
My search led me to "nogoodforme.com", a website that bills itself as "Your Ultimate Fashion Mixtape". That label is, at best, tacky and smacks of overweening FIC snobbery. Yet Laura Jane Faulds, self-described "senior writer" at nogoodforme.com has taken it upon herself to try
and explain in her own words what the FIC is. Bear with me, and please try not to wretch on your keyboards. She writes, "As you should all know by now, The Royal We of nogoodforme.com is all about loving fashion and loathing The Fashion Industrial Complex (tm). We use the term FIC (tm) to encapsulate the stupid, boring, problematic garbage that unfortunately comes along with how most people think about fashion: Brands and Dollaz and Misogyny and Elitism, Oh My! As such, I generally try to think about fashion in terms of self-expression and garments and innovation rather than associating myself with any particular style-istic segment or school of thought."--Funny. From the content of her website, I would've thought the exact opposite, what with her using words such as "redonk" and "hella-conceptual" to describe things that may or may not suit her fancy. Note that Ms. Faulds curiously places the (tm) symbol after mentioning the FIC. Just whose "TM" are we referring to, honey?! Hers?! I don't think so. Although I could babble on about the numerous cases I could make against her for copyright infringement, my main concern was her sincerity in defining the FIC's existence. As you already know, the FIC I describe in my articles is far beyond whatever her imagination could grasp.
While my gut instinct was telling me, "Go ahead, Ted, blog her to oblivion!!", I had another idea: A meeting of the minds with the woman. I figured since she had enough ingenuity to coin the term "FASHION INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX", we would hit it off and I would perhaps gain some long-overdue exposure to my blog. No such thing happened. In good nature I sent the editors of nogoodforme.com an e-mail, praising their website. NOTHING. WTF was I thinking?Well, them being a widely-read website I could understand them not answering their backlog of e-mails, so I did the next best thing. I e-mailed Ms. Faulds herself. Not a word, not a syllable. At this point, strike three was pointless as her take on Obama (see above photo). My general interest in whatever views she might have had on the FIC had already greatly weakened. My only conclusion is that this Laura Jane Faulds is a self-serving fashionista who eagerly co-opted my use of the term "Fashion Industrial Complex" for marketing her "redonk" blog. She could very well be a plant from the FIC itself to try and subvert the noble cause of exposing the truth. Why else would she choose, like a high-school cheerleader, to ignore my e-mails unless if she truly has something to hide? My advice to Laura: Stop lying to yourself. And stop lying to your readers. How dare you claim to denounce the FIC when you yourself ARE the FIC! There are REAL people with REAL problems, like unemployment and homelessness which the Fashion Industrial Complex creates! But you wouldn't care about that, would you? Your life is all about fashion, fashion, fashion, and partying and worrying about which hipster fuckface you're going to screw on Friday night. You don't have any real issues, or real concerns which would pertain to your identification of the Fashion Industrial Complex!
I have said my piece. Now I leave you with Al Goldstein, porn connoisseur and owner of Screw Magazine. Although he is perhaps best known for his candid "Fuck You" commentaries on Midnight Blue, a cable-access show he hosted from the 70's to 2003, when he went "broke"(he also started speaking out about Bush at this time). If he were here right now, he would most likely say, "FUCK YOU, Laura Jane Faulds, YA FUCKIN CUNT!! And FUCK YOUR "Ultimate Fashion Mixtape!!"

Barack Obama:How Selling Out Became a Trend in '08

Welcome to part II of my in-depth expose of the Obamanation that causeth desolation. You may recall that in February I wrote about Obama being a hipster phenomenon creating a cultural dictatorship in the realm of politics. This time I'm back with a second helping of dish on the topic of the lionized black man running for office in November who seems to be pulling all types of people out from the woodwork that aren't even fond of black people in general, but pretend to care about social change by voting for a black person without foreknowledge of his credentials. Let's face it, a black man in Barack Obama's position would not have attained such notoriety without certain "friends" in high places(ie. CFR, Pfizer, and other multinationals). The majority of African-Americans would do well to figure out who exactly this man is who claims to speak for them. However, as long as Rupert MURDERdoch and his bigwigs continue to run the Fashion Industrial Complex--lining their pockets with the money they extorted from the mindless fashion drones they employed--it will become increasingly difficult for there to be any revelation concerning Obama and his cohorts. This is a classic example of how the Mass Media seeks to overshadow anything of relevance by promoting celebrities instead of actual news. Hell, even John McCain himself compared Obama to Paris Hilton. Now, I'm no fan of McCain, but at least with him you know what you're getting. He's a fascist and and doesn't deny it. He supports the so-called "war on terror" 100% and brags about it. So does Obama but he pulls underhanded schemes to conceal that fact. How much of a hypocrite do you have to be to supposedly state that you're against the war in Iraq but for the war in Afghanistan? It doesn't make any sense, but then again nothing in this government does.
That being said, I'd like to point out that most Obama supporters do not even question the credentials of their "fearless leader", much less do they know anything about him, save that he's black, so he must be cool, right? It's just ridiculous how the sheeple think. That if they see something put out by the media as "fashionable" they unquestionably support it all the way, even if it's something completely debasing, and racist to boot. That's the true definition of a sell-out. Someone who does something just because he or she sees the Joneses doing it. And not even bothering to ask why. Barack Obama has got to be the biggest hoodwink the American Public has seen since Roswell. He and his handlers throw around the word "change" just enough so it can soak into their enslaved minds. Then people actually start believing this garbage, that a Democrat, whether he be white or black, is actually capable of changing the system without towing the party line. Just look at Joe Biden. What a joke!
Barack Obama is sell-out galore. For 20 years, he attended Jeremiah Wright's church without raising any issue with the radical content of his pastor's sermons. He was even married by Wright. So after 20 years of being a faithful member of Wright's flock, in early 2008 Obama, like Peter, denied the Christian teachings of his pastor for fear of persecution from voters. As far as I'm concerned, that is a sell-out. And this business of receiving corporate monies from HMO's is also shady. But, of course, hipsters, the biggest sell-outs on the planet, could care less. They'll conform with their peers to their dying day.

John Varvatos: Rock and Roll's Antichrist

In October 2006, Hilly Kristal lost a major battle to save his beloved CBGB's from drowning in the urban wasteland that is called Manhattan. After much litigation and failed negotiations with Mayor Bloomberg to secure a new location for the club, the future of live music in New York City was put down like a invalid racehorse named Barbaro. For 18 months, the site laid dormant. Passerbys would mark the legendary birthplace of American punk with graffiti as a shell of its famous storefront remained. Meanwhile, the Bowery Rescue Mission next door, the same that leased CBGB's, continues to house the homeless of the Lower East Side; a poignant reminder that homelessness in New York is prevalent in all walks of life, including struggling musicians. Unfortunately, there is no alloted shelter for the underground rock movement.
It wasn't just the physical landmark that was CBGB's displaced by gentrification. The very soul of underground rock was, in my opinion, wrenched from the Bowery into utter oblivion. The infrastructure has fallen. The New World Order under the Fashion Industrial Complex has taken shape in the form of a old enemy, ROCK AND ROLL FASHION DESIGNERS. A cunning and crafty serpent by the name of John Varvatos has cleverly wormed his way into the scene by capitalizing on the CBGB's site, creating a boutique for famous rock stars. Could this be the prophesied Rock and Roll Antichrist?! Let's look into the Bible: SECOND THESSALONIANS 2:3 states, "Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first(gentrification on the Lower East Side), and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God(or Rock)or that is worshipped, so that he as God (of Rock)sitteth in the temple of God (CBGB's)showing himself that he is God(being a designer demigod for Rock stars)."==John Varvatos clearly fits the profile of the Rock and Roll Antichrist as somebody who has usurped the holy ground of CBGB's to fuel his sick greed.
Like any candidate for an Antichrist, John Varvatos has chosen his Rock Star minions, among whom are Iggy Pop and Chris Cornell. Both have a specific task and mission. While Iggy is the quintessential model for Heroin Chic ('nuff said), Chris Cornell is your regular sell-out. As frontman for Audioslave, his role as part of Rock COINTELPRO was to seek out, and disrupt the political works of Rage Against The Machine, by replacing frontman and ardent communist Zach de la Rocha. HENCE, rendering the group's radical philosophy useless. The name AUDIOSLAVE in itself ought to suggest one thing: rather than "rage against the machine", people (or sheeple) would be more comfortable with their iPods, being a SLAVE to the FIC. That is all for now. TAH TAH!

The Hipster Crisis of 2008: Williamsburg residents plug Barack Obama

I was recently at the mini-mall on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, when I overheard a gaggle of moronic hipsters gaggling about Barack Obama. They were elated over his recent victory and proceeded to give each other high-fives in celebration. I kid you not, this has been the phenomenon in the past 5 months or so. All over Northern Brooklyn I have seen signs with Obama's face saying "CHANGE BROOKLYN CAN BELIEVE IN" posted in locales such as stores and restaurants. Although the fall of Williamburg has been long confirmed since as far back as 2001, this certainly puts it in stone.
Hipster, by definition, is a yuppie that sets the standard for what is hip by considerably tacky fashion quotas. They regard themselves to be elite because the clothes they wear, the music they listen to, and the books that they read are considered to be "avant-garde", thereby setting a distinction between them and non-hipster 'hoods. A hipster is usually what follows after radicals and artists when a neighborhood is gentrified. The hipster embodies the radical and artistic aspects through their individual styles but contain none of the substance of the people they displaced through gentrification. They are usually the first to spout the academic content of leftist politics without the raw grassroots approach. By academic leftist standards, electing Barack Obama would be right on the money. Why? BECAUSE HE'S BLACK. On the other hand, an educated leftist who does research on candidates would tell you that Barack Obama is far from reputable.
For generations, modern white hipsters have been guilty of subjecting black people to their image of what is cool. For example, hipsters do not consider themselves to be complete in hipsterdom unless if they have a token black in their circle. And by that I don't mean just a random black person who's down to earth and easy to talk to. NO, I mean the lionized black that hipsters consider an object of devotion, the author of "hip", so to speak. Sorta like the type Sonic Youth sings about in "Cool Thing". The way these hipster doofi approach integration is in its nature subjective, by which they think blackness equates automatic coolness, and something to idolize without a clue as to what the black experience entails. And what could be cooler than a black president?! To me, nothing could be more overtly racist than to single out black people as being demigods and not ordinary people. And nothing could be more ludicrous than to decide who the next president is going to be, because of his race.
And what do I think of Barack Obama? If he weren't an Uncle Tom he'd be torn to shreds by the media and Hillary Clinton, and that's a fact.
